D-ASPARTIC ACID (DAA)

Everyone has heard of the isometric shape of L-asparagine. It is one of the best sellers on the supplement markets. It metabolizes in a specific way, linked to a group of receptors in the frontal cortex of the brain, and turns into N-Methyl-D-Aspartate (NADA).

We use all these complex names just to say it raises the levels of the luteinizing hormone, the gonadotropin and the folic stimulating hormone.

…But that’s still complex, can we say it in a simpler way?

It really just means that the testosterone levels go up. In other words- You will make sick gains, bro. But that might be at the cost of some brain cells. So why did we have to complicate the sentence “D-Aspartic acid boosts your testosterone” so much?

That is just to break down what actually the body goes through to stimulate the endocrine system to do something un-natural, and that something can always go wrong. That something is the NADA receptors, which are responsible for delicate actions in human behavior- Operative conditioning. This is a process which allows us to quickly adapt to environmental changes.

These are the exact receptors that give us the feeling of success, curiosity and fulfillment when we do something right. What happens if they get damaged and/or stop working? Diseases like Alzheimer’s and central nervous system diseases start developing.

DAA was known for the past 50 years, so it’s tendency to kill NADA receptors through over-stimulation is well researched.

What Is D-Aspartic Acid (DAA)

DAA, sometimes called D-asparagine/D-aspartate is an amino acid and an isomer of the L-asparagine.

The carboxylated ions, salts and esters of the acid are called Aspartate.

What Should You Know About Aspartate?

The right (D) shape metabolizes into N-Methyl-D-Aspartate substance, which of course stimulates the NADA receptors in the brain, much like the effect of glutamate, but to a lower extent.

The unique thing about the NADA receptors is that they are linked to the flexibility of the brain synapses and the memory capabilities of the brain.

The bad thing about them however, is the fact that under circumstances of excessive stimulation, they get destroyed, and much like glutamate, D-Aspartate leads to higher levels of inner environment toxicity.

Applications Of D-Aspartic Acid

The D-Aspartate and its analogs Sodium-D aspartate and N-Methyl-D-Aspartate, all have roles, such as neurotransmitters and modulators. They also stimulate the production of signal and enzyme proteins in the nerve cells.

In the endocrine (hormonal) system, D-Aspartate is linked to the regulation of hormones. It increases the levels of the luteinizing hormone, gonadotropin and follicle-stimulating hormone.

It is also a stimulator for the production of enzymes which stimulate testosterone production on their terms.

How Exactly Does D-Aspartate Work?

We know that the Sodium-D aspartate increases the levels of two secondary signal proteins: cAMP and cGMP

  • cAMP is secreted in the testicles, in the Leydig cells, and stimulates natural testosterone production with up to 30%.
  • cGMP is secreted in the pituitary gland and leads to increase in luteinizing hormone production, along with prolactin and growth hormone
  • In the hypothalamus, D-aspartate improves the release of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), causes release of oxytocin and vasopressin synthesis of matrix RNK

The way D-Aspartate works in the different cells it gets into is – Leading to synthesis/activation of critical proteins that have signal and enzyme functions. Proteins such as- StAR, cAMP, cGMP

A problem with the increased testosterone is the aromatase enzyme. It quickly turns the excessive testosterone into estrogen. This means that taking D-Aspartate alone without aromatase blockers would be useless.

It looks like the intake of this supplement leads to an increase of aromatase production.

Proven Effects Of DAA

  • Increases the production of testosterone and luteinizing hormone
  • Leads to an increase in the synthesis of aromatase, due to the increased levels of testosterone
  • Increases production of progesterone
  • Stimulates the production of gamma-aminobutyric acid, which is one of the main neurotransmitters in the human organism
  • Suppresses dopamine release, increases luteinizing-releasing hormone and alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone

Effects That Have Not Yet Been Proven

  • Long-term testosterone increase- We can observe decreased levels of testosterone in lab tests, 3 days after ceasing the DAA intake

Side Effects Of D-Aspartic Acid

DAA and its chemical analogues are ecotoxic, much like the monosodium glutamate (MSG) and aspartame, because they use a common influencing mechanism- Overstimulating the NMDA receptors.

After reaching the point of overstimulation, cell death of the affected nerve cells is observed.

Note : People who have genetic indispositions to neuro-degenerative diseases should avoid the intake of ecotoxins.

Who Shouldn’t Take D-Aspartic Acid, Combining D-Aspartic Acid With Other Supplements

DAA should not be taken by pregnant/breastfeeding women.

The risk of ecotoxicity grow proportionally to the amounts of toxic substance taken and the age of the individual.

D-Aspartic acid should not be taken by people who have neuro-degenerative diseases or predispositions.

Recommended Doses And Ways Of Intake Of D-Aspartic Acid

The only scientifically proven dose for people is 10 ml of 2.0 M Sodium-D-Aspartate (3.12gr/10ml), taken with vitamins b6, b12 and follic acid for a period of 12 days.

Which other supplements contain D-Aspartic acid?

DAA is a trend among hormone boosting supplements, that act as libido and fertility stimulators.

It is usually combined with aromatase inhibitors, vitamins from the B group, along with other testosterone stimulators.

There are combined products on the supplement markets, namely- Hormonal stimulators that are combined with precursor of nitrogen oxide and energetics like creatine.

Unfortunately, none of the supplement boxes mention the dangerous side effects.

Of course, if you do not have any individual boundaries, reasonable intake of D-Aspartic acid will have little to none side effects, so we do not completely tell you to avoid it.

Just remember that it is a toxic substance and as we all know, in big quantities cure can be poison.
